Squids are many things. Being a Squid can mean a number of things. These are some commonly-seen examples of Squiddom:

• SPORTS: Softball / Bowling / Darts / Kickball
• SKILLS: Trivia / Drinking / Karaoke
• ARTS: Music / Filmmaking

Three Principles Of Squiddom

In No Particular Order; Each Is As Important As The Other Two

1) HAVE FUN. It’s what we’re Squiddin’ for. Nobody gives a crap if you botch that throw to first or drop that pop fly in the outfield or throw two gutterballs in the same frame or insist that the answer is “Frank Sinatra” when it’s really “Dean Martin.” If someone does care, or is letting it get in the way of having fun, he or she needs to get his or her priorities straight, cuz if you aren’t havin’ fun, you aren’t Squiddin’. Don’t let junk that doesn’t matter get in the way of rockin’ a grand ol’ time on the Squidwatch.

2) DO YER BEST / HUSTLE. It’s all right if you suck, and chances are great that most of us suck just as bad or worse than you (and since we’re all amazing, that means you’re amazing, too). Who cares, though? We are all in this to be awesome together. As long as you’re giving 100% (or MORE!?), you’re Squiddin’ it. Just gotta do THE BEST you can. No lazy plays or half-try throws or leaving an answer blank or “giving up” cuz something is “hopeless.” The Squids win all the time; nothing is hopeless. Give it your all, or please stay home (and let me know in advance that you won’t be there, of course).

3) BE A GOOD SPORT. If some hoosier idiot on the other team is giving you/us trouble, walk it off. If the other team’s cheatin’, be polite and handle it tactfully. Verbal insults, arguments with the proctor/referee/umpire, physical fights, and chucking the ball at the ground in a fit of rage are decent signs that you are NOT Squiddin’ it. I know lots of people want to fight us cuz our team is so wicked, but part of what makes it wicked is: we don’t give ‘em the satisfaction, and we don’t give a dang. They’ll be SQUIDBONG!ing with us after we win the game anyway.

When these three principles thou livest by, verily thou art SQUIDDING IT.
