SquidSummer
Response to my Squidmail about the formation of summer leagues (which is going on NOW) met with a pretty lackluster response, Squids!
Thanks to those that have replied. If you haven’t replied, what’s the hold-up? I’m looking at you, Squidgalz. Looking at you sternly and wondering why I haven’t heard from you yet.
Here’s the deal, for those that may not even have received said Squidmail for whatever reason:
We’re gonna do what we do every year. Mondays at Forest Park (double-headers if possible, single-headers if not) through the St. Louis Softball League, and Tuesday single-headers at Tower Grove Park through the Black Thorn league. On Mondays, games start on the hour or half-hour between 6:00PM and 9:00PM. On Tuesdays, games start at 7:00PM or 8:00PM.
I have to write a deposit check to reserve our Monday FoPa spot VERY soon, so I need to at least know there’s interest out there. There is, right?
Mondays will cost $60 if there are double-headers (that’s 24 games in 12 weeks of Squidball), or half that if they’re single-headers. Tuesdays will cost $30-35 per person for weekly games between late May and late August. Here are all the points from the E-Mail to keep in mind:
1) Preference will be given to Squids that wanna play both leagues (Mondays and Tuesdays both).
2) Practices will be Saturday afternoons (or Sundays, if that works out better) a few times a month.
3) Tolerance for no-call-no-shows is reduced drastically in the 2009 Squidball season.
4) If you know someone else that might be interested in joining up Squid-style, let me know/have ‘em contact me.
5) Squid-Ball.com continues to be a great source for up-to-the-minute Squid information and entertainment.
6) No glass bottles or outside beer of any kind are permitted at Forest Park.
7) Also let me know if you definitely will NOT be playing, that too is helpful information.
I love you.
PANCAKE MASTER, #88
EDIT TO ADD: That should be an “8″ followed by a closing-parenthesis instead of a smiley-face with sunglasses, above.

I kinda want it to be a smiley with sunglasses.
Whatever makes people sign up faster, I guess!
