Squid Games In Review: 09/02/08

Oh, my gosh Squids. Squidfall has arrived.

Last night was mega-tight. It looked bleak for a second but we managed a quorum, and then two stunning wins against the St. Alexius Wombats (formerly known as B.L.M. during this past summer at Forest Park).

Holy crap it was hot (awesomeness-wise and weather-wise both). New Squids T-BAG and PAYNIS walked away with the game balls for some amazing hustle and breathtaking plays (and propers to PAYNIS especially for his handiwork in creating a last-minute makeshift SquidMix–Actual SquidMix will be ready by next Monday & Tuesday no matter what). Special accolades also go to KRUKKER for newly taking on pitching duties and wailing hard (COOLHAND look out!), SWITCHBLADE for some reluctant-but-multiple-playmaking shortstop work in the 11th hour (DONRUSS look out!), and SCHRAPPEN for an unstoppable glove at first. Crap dudes, I don’t want to stop there, I just want to heap shout-outs and game-balls on all of you until the end of time!

Afterwards some of us got to Friendly’s, chowed down some $1 burgers (phenomenal!) and MONGOOSE, SWITCHBLADE, KRUKKER, MIRANDAMAZING, and Squidfriend Dan F. offered much support, direct and indirect alike, as T-BAG and I relentlessly continued our quest for the Shark, unfortunately in KEES‘s absence (so what if actually it’s a whale, enough already!!!) from the BIG CHOICE claw crane machine. We definitely ended up with a table full of tiny stuffed animals, and at long last, garnered that most choicest of prizes, which shall now abide in my automobile in perpetuity.

Practice on Saturday 09/06 at noon at Heman Park. SquidMix tracks long overdue (but four of you are still idling on that). Monday Squids come to practice to figure out when we play next week. For everything else, stay in tune with the Squidwire and keep being awesome. Bigtime.
