07/21/08: Well, you all got the E-Mail about that. FoPa Squidball Summer 2008 is now over. BEASTOR-X, MANNY FRESH, OBLIVIA, MONICA, [blank], and myself went to Harry’s after leaving and destroyed every other team there at Trivia with an astounding perfect Round V and 107 points out of a possible 110 overall.  Anyone wanna go next Monday?  Or maybe after a Tuesday game sometime?

07/22/08: Similar situation to Monday but at least we got to play with the help of some of the St. Louis Jaycees. We scored seven in the first inning and later demolished our opponents emotionally and physically, only too naturally. Dispersal of Squids after the game (in which, by the way, a dude on the other team, “The Shot Callers,” straight-up LIED about whether I had tagged him out at the plate! Seriously! I never make plays at the plate, and am well aware of this; why would I be lying about it?) was fast, too fast to allow for the awarding of the game ball. COOLHAND and DONRUSS did stick around drinkin’ past dark, long enough to make it to the post-game free-pitcher at Black Thorn (we were joined by Dan, who’d played the game with us, and Mike, who had spectator’d). Sara P. and Truckey joined us as well, and we were there pretty late. As usual, THE DUDE was there at the bar and we chatted briefly.

Still waiting to hear from many of you about Squidfall (as a reminder: Monday double-headers at FoPa, Tuesday double-headers at Lyon Park, both will start approximately early September and go four weeks). Also still trying to get more concrete information about the Tuesdays at Lyon Park. I’ll be sending off the deposit for the Monday double-headers at FoPa later this week.
