SquidGames In Review: 04/14/08

Oh my goodness let the Squidding begin, indeed!

Last night was a most triumphant debut for the 2008 St. Louis Squids.  We played the team “Boathouse,” ostensibly named for affiliations with the building/business of the same name within Forest Park.  We trounced them so bad, I don’t even remember the score (as per usual).  They may as well have been called FLOPHOUSE*!

Game balls were awarded to our two stellar new Squid players, pitcher Ann (COOLHAND, #37) and fielder Monica (MONICA, #26).  Welcome to the hottest, winningest softball club in St. Louis, my friends!

Both BEASTOR-X and Tom (T-BIZZLE, #9) had some hot catches in the outfield.  Bill (KRUKKER, #29) and Donruss (DONRUSS, #14) had some mega-hot plays at/as shortstop.  Ann was pitching strikes left and right.  Plenty of hustling was done by all, and our domination of the scoreboard really showed the results of that, so congratulations are most certainly in order for every Squid out there.

I’m gonna use this wicked green text so people know it’s me makin’ a blarg post, if that’s all right with you guys.  If anyone else is interested in reviewing the ins and outs of last night’s game(s), or anything else, feel free!

*Just kidding about the FLOPHOUSE remark.  The Squids are always good sports, and we had a great time playing you guys, in case you’re reading.

    I hope I haven’t created too big of a monster–I don’t want people to flock to future game review entries to hungrily see if their names got mentioned (wocka wocka). All Squids are of course awesome and loved, even if they aren’t singled out by name in the review; it’s just whatever highlights I happened to recall at the time (and admittedly I will probably try to share the wealth where that’s concerned…TIME WILL TELL!).
